The Studio

This four bedroom home is located on an elevated block in Dunsborough Lakes. It has views on three sides, the main one being the golf course. As this is a south facing view it was important to include a north facing outdoor area. This timber decked verandah also forms the entry porch, and provides a protected private space looking onto the bush. The house includes an attic for storage, so the roof pitch was increased and additional structural joists were added to accommodate this use. As timber frame construction was not viable, reverse brick veneer was used so that the weatherboard cladding could be used to give the house character.
